Project by:
Claudia Pazzini, curator of the art collections of Palazzo Sorbello GRIMM TWINS, Barbara Lachi and Ayumi Makita

The exhibition follows the changes through time of games and toys, from "handcrafted" objects, almost unique pieces for children belonging to the wealthiest classes, to games and toys built in less precious and more accessible materials.

Tin objects, theaters and first prints of illustrated books, passing through "wonder machines" such as magic lanterns, real devices introducing the concept of “pre-cinema”.

The Grimm Twins, atypical “anthropologists”, called upon to create their own site specific art intervention, perform a sewing job, combining the objects made available, seeking in each of them the affection that bound them to the original owner. An intimate and familiar narration, made up of graphic interventions, artist's books, shadow games and illustrations that "stage" not only the three brothers but also two literary children Alice and Pinocchio, protagonists of two books that all children of yesterday and today have read.
