PALAZZO SORBELLO HOUSE MUSEUM FIRMLY BELIEVES IN THE EDUCATIONAL ROLE OF ART
Our educational offer is constantly evolving and is always attentive to the cognitive, exploratory and emotional needs of our young visitors.
In 2017, as the first Italian museum to join the initiative of the French association Môm'Art, we signed up to the Charter of the Rights of the Small Visitor.By signing this document, Palazzo Sorbello Casa Museo has undertaken to maintain a high quality of reception services for children and families. In the House Museum of Palazzo Sorbello the Little Visitor is welcomed with a smile. In the reception hall, children have a space reserved for them where they can draw, color and read quality illustrated books on the themes of art and the museum as a place of wonders, in Italian and English.
In the museum, some showcases are dedicated to children's literature with rare first editions of illustrated books for children from the late nineteenth century including masterpieces by Beatrix Potter, Louis Wain, Randolph Caldecott. Children will find among the illustrations of the books characters familiar to them such as Sleeping Beauty, Blue Beard, the Three Little Pigs.
ROUTE FOR THE VISIT OF CHILDREN TO PALAZZO SORBELLO
Families with children can choose to carry out the thematic path aimed at children with the help of the playbook of the house museum “Journey through time at Palazzo Sorbello”, available in both Italian and English. Through the game book every Little Visitor is transformed into a traveler in time and with the help of some friends he will meet at Palazzo Sorbello, such as the Marquis, the Poet and the King, he will become familiar with ancient objects now disused in the contemporary world, he will learn to distinguish uses and customs of the past and deepen his knowledge of the peculiarities of a noble residence, such as art collecting and the book collections of the historical library. For each room, the game book contains creative activities to be carried out at home with the help of parents.
The game book A journey through time at Palazzo Sorbello it is available in Italian and English and was conceived and written by the curator of the house museum of Palazzo Sorbello, Dr. Claudia Pazzini, with illustrations by Cristina Lanotte and game inserts by Tommaso Di Carpegna Falconieri.
